FAQ & IMPORTANT INFORMATION

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Are guests welcome at the Y?
Guests are once again welcome at the Y.  PHOTO ID is required upon arrival.  Qualifying Oshkosh Y Members, for the remainder of 2021, may enjoy a total of 3 free guest passes per membership (no paper pass required). Day pass sales are available through the Front Desk.

  • Passes are per household membership and not per person
  • The Primary Member on the membership is the person who will determine who can use a pass
  • For the remainder of 2021, memberships include a total of 5 free guest passes per household. (Short Term memberships do not include a guest pass benefit)
  • Medicare Advantage Insurance Members and Youth Memberships may enjoy a total of 2 free guest passes for 2021
  • Link to full details for 2021:  Member Guest Pass Info
  • Guest Passes for 2022 will be handled differently.  Direct member communication will be done in December.

Are towels available at the Y?
  • Towels Service will resume on Nov. 1, 2021.
  • Shower Towels will be available to Y Members at the Welcome Desk only when you check in.
  • We ask members to limit themselves to 2 shower towels per visit.
  • We ask members to please bring along your beach/pool towels for use on the pool deck.

Can I use my membership from another Y?
We offer Nationwide Membership because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. On average, at least 50% of your visits must be to your Home YMCA (the local association that enrolled you and collects your membership dues). If you are a college student, you will need to join the YMCA where your usage is 50% or greater. Nationwide Membership is based on individual usage not the family unit. We have a Young Adult rate which is a great value for you.

How do you I know what activities/classes/programs the Y is offering?
The Y shares our seasonal Activities Guide digitally on our website assessable from our home page.  Follow this link or visit www.oshkoshymca.org.  The Y sends a weekly Enews to those who wish to subscribe.  This is a great tool to stay “in the know” about everything the Y is offering, adding, or changing as we navigate the pandemic together.

Tell me more about the NEW YMCA App?
Due to changes in the App world, the Y needed to comply.  Our new App launched the week of June 20th.  If you have the old App, please delete it as it is no longer supported. Search for "Oshkosh Community YMCA" in your App store to locate us.  Here you can view all the classes on the schedule that require reservations. You can see how many spots are open and sign up directly from the App.

What is the best way to make a reservation?
Our App makes it very easy; however, you can also go to our home page at oshkoshymca.org and click on the reservations button on the left side of the page.  This will take you directly to the page. Follow the screen and prompts. There is a lot of information that needs to load so please be patient with your device. You may reserve your spot up to 24 hours in advance. There is a tablet at the Y members can use and our front desk can assist our members as well.

We are following the CDC regarding mask wearing for vaccinated people.  Members who have been fully vaccinated are welcome to remove their masks.  Individuals not yet vaccinated are asked to remain masking until further notice for the safety of Y staff and our Y community.   We will continue to monitor the local situation in partnership with the Health Department and will adjust when needed.

When you join the Y, you join a community organization that offers health, hope and opportunity.  Please be assured that safety is our number one priority. Things will be different in this new climate, so while we know it is a lot of information, we hope you will read everything on the pages that follow so you will know what to expect when using our facilities.

We continue to follow guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety, and we have modified our policies and services to facilitate safe physical distancing practices.  We respect that not everyone was able to or chose to be vaccinated.
